About myworldfoundation

My World Foundation was founded by two people from very different walks of life and areas of expertise, who share a common vision unique to Georgia. Christina Pushaw is an American expatriate with extensive experience in college admissions counseling at prestigious private high schools in the US, and George Arveladze was the first Georgian student to attend high school in America on a cultural exchange program in 1993, who later went on to become a Minister of Economy and Chief of Staff. Both realized that there are many high-achieving, independent, ambitious high school students in Georgia who would gain invaluable opportunities for their future through a comprehensive cultural exchange program. This nonprofit foundation will ensure the success of the next generation and of Georgia. The benefits of cultural exchange programs are widely known - students can experience everyday life in America while sharing a safe, comfortable home with a fully background-checked and experienced American "host family." Moreover, Georgian students can attend the top public or private American high schools for one semester, one year, or even two years to receive an American diploma. Not only is this experience a fun and exciting adventure, but the cultural exchange experience is also extremely beneficial to Georgian students who hope to gain acceptance to the most prestigious universities in the US and Europe. Native-level fluency in English, proven ability to excel in the American high school curriculum, and most importantly, the maturity and global perspective evident among students who have lived abroad during high school truly sets cultural exchange participants apart from other international applicants to the top universities. In Georgia, there are few opportunities to study in the United States - scholarships are rare and extremely selective. Therefore, My World Foundation has created myriad opportunities for Georgia's top high school students, who have studied English and are ready to experience the American culture and embark on the next step to their future at an international university. Giving motivated and ambitious students comprehensive preparation for America's most prestigious universities. The experiences of this cultural exchange endow participants with a global perspective that truly sets them apart from other applicants to top American institutions. Linguistic and cultural immersion combine to provide a new dimension to the rigorous education, enabling students to succeed inside and outside the classroom. We shrink the globe for our clients. We open their futures. We turn the next generation into the beneficiaries of mankind's progress. What We Offer: My World Foundation and its American partners offer J1 Visas for Semester and Academic Year programs in top US public schools. Regional or city preferences may be selected by our students. F1 Visa sponsorship is also available, for students who wish to attend the most prestigious American private schools, of various price ranges and metropolitan locations. With the F1 Visa, a student may receive a diploma from the American school, greatly increasing their chances of acceptance into a top American university. All cultural exchange students are carefully matched with experienced, safe volunteer host families, who have undergone comprehensive background checks and have comfortable living spaces with sufficient room for their host student. Host families function as a wonderful support system for students living abroad, including them in all family activities and allowing them to discover the sights and destinations of their country, but regional representatives are also available in each state at all times to answer any questions the students may have or to offer support in any way. Cultural and linguistic orientation, insurance, and travel expenses are also covered through the My World Foundation programs.
